Posted Julie Ann Davis Lifestyle Music

Last year we had such a good time attending the New England Shake-Up in Sturbridge, MA that we decided to attend and vend this year! (You can read about last year's adventures here.) Here's a quick shakedown of all the fun we had!  Thursday Sept 24 We packed up our little PT Cruiser--filled with tubs of crinolines, sunglasses, pomade, and pettipants--and headed East with our friends Mike and Judy. The ride was long, almost 7 hours, but the reward was great… after settling into the hotel we took a drive to have dinner at Kowloon restaurant! If you LOVE tiki (like...

Here is the second half of our trip to the New England Shale-Up! 2015. I think the sign posted (above) pretty much explains that it is a party! The Cats Like Us crew kicked off the holiday season by going to see The Brian Setzer Orchestra's Christmas Show and it was amazing! Their music is still as relavant and exciting to a young fan first discovering their records through to those who has been following The Cramps since day one. Lux Interior will forever live on through his music, his lyrics and the people who he has and will influence.  The...

Lower Town Trio: The Fellas Behind the Cats Like Us Jingle

Posted Julie Ann Davis Behind the scenes Music

I always say, “Cats Like Us brings people together.” I've met the most fascinating people through the shop and it's no wonder---they are also interested in the same things we stand for: great fashion, rescuing animals, and music. When I first met Jason Van Cleve, he was a customer involved with the Queen City Roller Girls (our local derby league), then he invited me to a few gigs around town that his band Lower Town Trio was playing. In Buffalo, NY you have a handful of rockabilly bands that put their own take on the musical style. Lower Town Trio...
