Retro Drink Recipe : Hot Pumpkin Cocktail

Our weather in Western New York is so unpredictable with one day being rainy and 40 degrees and then getting blasted with a balmy 80 degree streak. Though we have all this unstable and radically changing weather it doesn't stop us from craving those pumpkin flavored drinks....especially when there is coffee AND booze involved. *Wink*. The time for Fall drinks is upon us!

The Hot Pumpkin is a hot cocktail that has both elements of pumpkin spice and coffee to chase away those chills, but it's not too boozy or overpowering for those who don't care for strong tasting alcoholic beverages. This is a great drink to serve after dinner with some dessert like pie or pumpkin pound cake!

 

Ingredients:

1 oz. Pumpkin spice liqueur

1/2 oz. Coffee liqueur (here's a great link on how to make your own : coffee liqueur recipe)

Hot coffee

Method:

Pour the pumpkin spice liquer, coffee liqueur and hot coffee into a pre-heated mug. For garnish you can add a gallop of whip cream and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg or (what I prefer) both!

 

*Tip-the pumpkin spice liqueur is very sweet, so use less if you don't like overly sweet coffee drinks!
