I was a little concerned about this cocktail having so many ingredients as I don't normally drink cocktails that contain a mixture of liquors, but I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of the Miami Beach Iced Tea. The mix of subtle sweetness of the simple syrup combined with the tartness of the lemon juice makes this drink go down very easy and you will be wanting seconds. It's an interesting variation on the traditional Long Island Iced Tea with the color reminding me of the waters of South Beach. Oh to be laying on a beach right now. Sigh....
Ingredients:
1/2 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Light rum
1/2 oz. Gin
1/2 oz. Tequila
1 oz. Fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz. Simple syrup
1 oz. Lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7-Up)
Method:
Fill a highball glass with ice. Combine vodka, rum, gin, tequila, lemon juice and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker (no ice) and shake vigorously for 5-10 seconds. Strain into the highball glass and top with lemon-lime soda. Stir and enjoy.
Cheers!
