This past month Cats Like Us sponsored Deco Fest (http://www.deco-fest.com/) at the Buffalo Central Terminal and we tried to capture some nice photos of our customers who were swinging around in our clothes.
The Buffalo Central Terminal Train Station is rich with Buffalo history and art deco architecture. Buffalo Central Terminal opened on June 22, 1929 and the grand opening included the Chamber of Commerce Gala, with 2,200 people attending. It was the largest event in Buffalo at that time. Sadly, the trains stopped running in 1979 and the building was abandoned.
More than 30 years after closing the building is still an awesome sight to behold. Walking around in the expansive, gorgeous interiors, it is not hard to imagine a bustling crowd of travelers waiting for the next train out. A passionate group is attempting to restore and preserve this marvelous building, and hold periodic events such as Deco fest as fund-raisers.
With a great lineup of bands, vendors, and the magnificent surroundings, it was a great night to be out and be seen! Here are a few of the cool cats we caught out in dressed in “Cats Like Us” attire...
