Wedding season is upon us and we offer a lot of style advice and recommendations for what to wear as a guest to the wedding or suggestions for bridal shower attire. We have even dressed a few brides for their special day!
One of the questions we are often asked is, "Is this wedding appropriate?", now a lot has changed over the years, but we always recommend it's best to be over dressed than under dressed for these type of occasions. Of course, we also think you should ask the couple who's wedding you are attending as to what they would like you to wear. If the replies you receive are; "formal", "casual", "day", "evening", "retro", etc., than have no fear, we've got you covered.
Formal
The Regency Gray Marseilles Dress is the most luxurious dress we have at Cats Like us. The dress's beautiful brocade pattern, elegant sweetheart neckline and full skirt makes this dress our recommendation to a formal affair.
If you feel more comfortable with a sleeve, than the understanded elegance of the 1940s Teal Benita Collar Dress is just for you. The dress already comes with a beautiful rhinestone brooch, so adding a evening clutch, black heels and some rhinestone earrings make for effortless wedding chic.
Casual
Casual is a broad term, so when the wedding guests are told to be casual, we like to assess where the wedding is taking place. Is the ceremony taking place in a backyard, a vineyard or at a rented hall? Perhaps a cotton sundress like the Maybeline Sugar Stripe Dress is a good choice. You can pair the dress with flats, cork wedge sandals or with a pair of cute flip flops.
Shower Party
Whether you're the bride-to-be or attending a wedding shower, we love the idea of wearing the Magnolia Honey Swing Dress to such an occasion. This dress is elegant, airy and oh-so-comfortable, which is important on a day that a lot of eating and sitting is involved. *Wink*
