70s does 1940s Tile Tan Tie
One of the best ways to achieve a vintage look, is with a vintage tie. The patterns and quality are unlike anything you see out there today. Wide neckties were fashionable in the 1940s, first among Zoot suiters rebelling against wartime austerity, and later as part of the "Bold Look" worn by World War II veterans returning to civilian life. This tie is from the 1970s when wide ties made a comeback. This is a great brown and tan neutral tile pattern. It is in excellent vintage condition, underside lining discolored, not noticeable from the front. It's labeled "Barrister, all poyester, The Kleinhans Co. Buffalo". The Kleinhans Company, was a high-end men's clothing store located in Buffalo, New York. The store would eventually grow to be 54,000 square feet, and was said to be the largest men's clothing store in the country. Edward Kleinhans died in 1934, and left his estate to the city to build the Kleinhans Music Hall. Hart Schaffner & Marx (later Hartmarx) purchased the company in 1967 and operated the chain until it closed December 30, 1992. The tie measures 4.5 inches at it's widest part and about 54 inches long. This is an authentic one of a kind vintage piece in wearable condition, that has been cleaned and repaired (if necessary). Flaws will be noted, but please ask any questions you may have as this is a FINAL SALE garment and cannot be returned. All items are measured flat the same way we measure our reproduction items. The maximum measurement is listed.
