Kenneth Jay Lane 3D Pearl Pear Brooch
This is a rare and retired Kenneth Jay Lane brooch. It's a 3D gold tone base with a large off white pearl pear and leaves encrusted with clear rhinestones. Signed "KJL" from the 1990s. Measures 2 1/2 inches long. Here's a little back story...Kenneth Jay Lane designed for Wallis, the Duchess of Windsor, who bought several pieces and recommended him to her friends. As both costume jewelry and society reporting were popular at the time, press reports of this incident launched Lane's business. His talent at copying high end jewelry from a quick glimpse proved popular, his clients proudly wearing the faux pieces. Jacqueline Kennedy was among those who commissioned fake jewels from Lane in order to enable her to wear them more freely while keeping the valuable originals in a safe. It's in excellent condition. This is an authentic vintage piece in wearable condition, that has been cleaned and repaired (if necessary). Flaws will be noted, but please ask any questions you may have as this is a FINAL SALE item and cannot be returned.
