This is the first book written by N. Tonawanda resident Carol Sayre. She came up with the idea for the book during the many walks with her beagle Harper during the height of the pandemic. Canalfest of the Tonawandas is back this year! July 17-24 Canal Fest is a free eight-day event put on in joint effort by Tonawanda and North Tonawanda in Western New York, just north of Buffalo. The event is the largest one held along the New York State canal system, with total attendance hovering around a 200,000-250,000 a year. Smoking Hot Bags is the creation of local artists Leanne & Bill, once customers of mine and now friends, come and see their handbag creations on Saturday, May 21 from 12-5pm at Cats Like Us. Smoking Hot Bags are made from upcycled cigar boxes and sometimes wine boxes. Each is unique and hand painted.
