You Can Wear Retro Clothing #bodypositive

Posted Meagan Kyla Hendrickson Fashion Lifestyle

Size is a sensitve subject with most women, we are surrounded by a world that is either telling us we're too fat or were too thin. We are confused by shopping either online or in a physical store, because of things like vanity sizing or labels like, 'misses', 'juniors', 'plus size', etc. We are taught to try and...

Brand spotlight: Interview with Lumpy Buttons

Posted Julie Ann Davis Fashion Lifestyle

Lumpy Buttons is the brainchild of Esther, a working artist based in Buffalo, NY. She loves her city, animals, and life in general, and has created a workshop of cute, goofy and geeky handmade gifts for just about anybody (including yourself!) What is amazing is that ALL of her items are completely handmade, from cutting the original designs to being sewn completely by hand. None of them are made with a sewing machine! Here's a quick interview with the artist: I'm sure you get asked this all the time, where did the name "Lumpy Buttons" come from? The name Lumpy...

Style Inspiration : It's Wedding Season!

Posted Meagan Kyla Hendrickson Fashion Style

Wedding season is upon us and we offer a lot of style advice and recommendations for what to wear as a guest to the wedding or suggestions for bridal shower attire. We have even dressed a few brides for their special day! One of the questions we are often asked is, "Is this wedding appropriate?", now a lot has changed over the years, but we always recommend it's best to be over dressed than under dressed for these type of occasions. Of course, we also think you should ask the couple who's wedding you are attending as to what they...

Behind the Scenes: Uniting the Gateway for the United Way of the Tonawandas Fashion Show

Posted Julie Ann Davis Behind the scenes Fashion Local

Cats Like Us is always up to support a cause we believe in and this one is right in our backyard. We were involved in a fashion show a few weeks ago where the proceeds went to support the United Way of the Tonawandas and it was held at the historic Riviera Theater. Pretty swanky. If you are local and have never been to the Riviera Theater, go. It is beautiful. This is what it looks like on the inside. It was built in 1926 and patterned in an Italian Renaissance style. More information on the Riviera can be found...

The Magical Musical Little Black Dress

Posted Andrew Davis Fashion Lifestyle

The little black dress went to Chopin and Schumann, with accents of pink and heels of black.   Then classical guitar at a garden party, beyond the mansion in the back.   It took me to stomp out some country, with boots of red and a jacket of blue.   It was there with me in San Diego, at No Doubt with Blink 182.   It hung with cool cats of big band, elegant and retro.   Then a festival with flowers in my hair, dancing in the meadow.   Add a cardigan and tutu, for Lowest of the Low....
