The name Akumu is Japanese for Nightmare which is the running theme for the entire brand. They’re heavily inspired by everything coming out of Japan from its terrifying horror movies to its cute pop icons.
We really like the pop horror imagery on these shirts – really great artwork on the highest quality Ts available. While not “retro style clothing” in the traditional sense. They might be a little more “vintage inspired” in their imagery featuring skulls and dia de los muertos mashed in a turn of the century sensibility. Folks who like b horror movie and goth sensibilities will enjoy the imagery on these shirts.
Pictured top is the Mad Hatter Top Hat T Shirt. “If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t.
