Halloween 2013 : Costume Fun with Cats Like Us

Posted by Meagan Kyla on

Happy October-ween all you groovy ghoulies! It's that special time of the year for some tricks and a lot of treats, so we're going to help you dress to impress with Cats Like Us retro fashions! Whether you're going to a costume party, dressing up for work or just looking to get into the Halloween spirit, we've got the goods to put that 'boo' in boooo-tiful! And a whole lot of corny Halloween puns! *Wink*

Isn't the October Fest Polka Dot dress by Hell Bunny just the perfect dress for Fraulein Helga to serve all the beer? Of course you can choose whatever name you please for your Halloween character, but don't be surprised when people shout "Hurra Bier!" (hooray beer!) when they see you. Tie your hair up in pigtail braids with a pair of the Atomic Blue Hello Hair Bows by Kustom Voodoo and don't forget your favorite beer stein. Salute!

Retro Space Cadet

I'm not calling you a space cadet as an insult, in fact I think pairing the Red Space Cadet Crop Top with the Red Space Cadet Thrills Skirt by Steady would be quite clever! The kitschy space print just begs to be made into a retro space gal by adding a pair of silver head boppers and a classic retro ray gun. Zap! Zap! Zoinks!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Audrey Hepburn's character, Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's became a fashion icon, making the Little Black Dress (or LBD) one of the most influential fashion choices in cinema history. You can channel your inner Holly Golightly with the Lorelei Black Cocktail Dress by Trashy Diva paired with the Perceived Green Cat Sunglasses White Triple Jet Set Bracelet and don't forget a martini and a long cigarette holder.

Retro Stewardess

Even though the Navy Seafarer Dress by Hell Bunny is nautical inspired, I think it would make a great base for a Pan American Airways retro stewardess costume! Add any of the awesome Pan Am bags like the Blue Pan Am Mini Explorer Bag or the Silver Round Pan Am Makeup Bag along with a pair of little White Short Gloves to give your costume that extra retro 60s realness. Looking for the iconic cute little stewardess hat? Check out this awesome tutorial to make one of your very own!

I hope I gave you some costume ideas to get those brain juices bubbling! Happy Halloween!

XOXO-Meagan Kyla
